John Morrissey

John Morrissey is Managing Director of Shea Ventures, LLC, which is the Shea Family’s private equity investment fund that has a long history of direct investments in venture capital and other private equity.  He is also Executive Vice President and a Director of J.F. Shea Co., Inc. and its affiliates: Shea Homes, J.F. Shea Construction, and Shea Properties.  Prior to joining the Shea entities, Mr. Morrissey was a partner of Bingham McCutchen and its predecessor firm, McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen, where he served as Managing Partner of the firm’s Los Angeles office.  Mr. Morrissey received his B.A. cum laude in Economics from Yale College.  He also received a degree in Philosophy, Politics & Economics from Oxford University.   He earned his J. D. degree cum laude from the University of Chicago Law School.  He served as a law clerk to the Hon. Charles L. Brieant, Jr. of the United States District Court in New York City.
